- Lightly grease and flour a 2 L (8 inch) square baking or Bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and buttermilk.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add, with apples, to wet ingredients; mix until combined.
- Spread batter evenly in the pan.
- Bake in a oven preheated to 180oC (350oF) for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool in the pan before removing and cutting into 12 servings.
