- Preheat the oven to 180oC (350oF).
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; stir in the dates and orange juice.
- Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form; add the sugar gradually while continuing to beat; add the vanilla.
- Using a rubber spatula, fold the egg whites into the batter.
- Spread the batter evenly into a nonstick square 2 l (9x9x2 inch) baking pan.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until done. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan; cool before cutting into bars.
